As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts. We only look at the past three seasons for a player. Drew Lock had a late start last season, as a hand injury in the preseason landed him on IR. In the last five games of the year, he flashed some brilliance and some incompetence. Which Drew Lock will we see in the 2020 season?

Drew Lock Overview:
It’s hard to argue against a guy who did this within his first ten passes in the NFL. And who threw another passing touchdown on his next drive, to boot. But, things weren’t always peaches and cream for Lock last season. He had five touchdowns and two picks through his first three games and just two passing touchdowns in his last three. It was an up-and-down first five games for Drew Lock, who now enters his sophomore campaign as the undisputed starter in Denver.
As a passer, Lock understandably looked a bit overwhelmed at times. After all, he threw his first career passes in week eleven last year. However, Lock noted that in the offseason he will become more willing to take off and run, and he has the athleticism to do that. He’s no Colin Kaepernick, but he turned in at least 15 rushing yards in three-of-five games last year, so if he makes a concerted effort to run, the 20-30 yards he gets could boost his fantasy points scoring like Ryan Tannehill or Alex Smith before his leg was nearly forcibly removed from his body.
Lock might also be in one of the best positions of any quarterback, too. The Broncos added Jerry Jeudy, Melvin Gordon, K.J. Hamler, and Albert Okwuegbunam to Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant. If Lock fails, it won’t be for a lack of weapons.

Draft Ranking: Find out for your league settings in a Beersheet! (coming late June)
Drew Lock is essentially free. If you want him, go get him. I’m especially intrigued by Lock in 2QB leagues where you can get him, Joe Burrow, and Ryan Tannehill in the second half of the draft according to fantasyfootballcalculator.com. If you want to wait on QB in 2QB leagues, then Drew Lock must be a part of your roster. If you don’t want to wait, he makes for a cheap QB2 in that format. In one quarterback leagues, I’m taking Lock as a second quarterback when the mood strikes. Usually, however, I’m more than happy to leave Lock on the waiver wire while taking an additional upside running back (cough—Zack Moss—cough).
Best Case Scenario:
Drew Lock is what we think he is, and the additions let him live up to his full potential. He ends up in the 4,200 yards, 25 touchdowns, ten interception range, and finishes as a backend QB1 thanks to his rushing.
Worst Case Scenario:
Drew Lock finds himself a new career as a touring lip-sync artist and you screwed up your last-round selection.
