This is because anyone who is looking at data from 2016 to figure out what to do in 2020 had better be Ryan Lochte wishing you had steered more into the ridiculous lies about getting robbed to avoid paying for vandalism damage at a gas station bathroom because that’s the only time anyone cared about you. CeeDee Lamb is back for another year of football. But this time, there’s one twist: His payment will be completely above board! Will he have fantasy relevance in redraft leagues?

Since he is a rookie, he has no statistics yet. However, I am trying to get the nickname “California Drivers License” (CDL) off the ground for CeeDee Lamb. Do you think that will work? No? Hm, okay. Back to the drawing board.
CeeDee Lamb Overview:
CeeDee Lamb was, at worst, the WR3 in all draft rankings this offseason, with him claiming the #1 spot for a great number of draft analysts. Our own Jeff Krisko nearly had a conniption fit when his 49ers passed on Lamb in the draft. Lamb is really, really good. Like, really good. He has the talent to be a DeAndre Hopkins in this league and regularly made opposing defenders look like they should have Yakety Sax playing in the background while trying to tackle him. Would-be tacklers make it seem like he’s covered in oil and his natural and fluid motions make him look just as slick on the field before he gets the football. He’s one of the best wide receivers to come out in the last few years.
It’s quite simple: Lamb has the talent and Dallas has the offense for him to produce. However, he’s third on the wide receiver depth chart. On the other hand, Jason Witten and Randall Cobb aren’t in town anymore, vacating over 160 targets. Then again, “replacing Witten and Cobb” shouldn’t be a recipe for fantasy success.
Huh, I guess it’s not so simple, after all.

You want to assign value to Lamb according to however much you value a wide receiver sleeper. He’ll probably be a notable bye week starter with a chance to break out if Gallup gets injured. However, he’s also missing a lot of practice reps with Dak Prescott due to the COVID-19 shutdowns, so don’t get too excited. If he’s still on the board after a dozen rounds or if you can scoop him up for a buck or two, then he’s worth it. But don’t reach on someone who’s upside is just, “okay now you have a WR2 you can start.”
Best Case Scenario:
Lamb finishes as a top-24 wide receiver as the Cowboys offense puts all the pieces together like Voltron.
Worst Case Scenario:
Someone plucks him to “handcuff” Michael Gallup and then Gallup wilts, but Lamb still doesn’t blossom (I hear Dallas men like to be compared to flowers).
