We only look at the past three seasons for a player. This is because anyone who is looking at data from 2016 to figure out what to do in 2020 had better be sitting in a burning house, wondering if “this is fine.” Terry McLaurin was a pleasant surprise in his rookie 2019 year, can he now cement himself as an every-week WR2?

Terry McLaurin Overview:
Terry McLaurin had his share of struggles last season as a rookie wide receiver but was one of four rookie wideouts to top 900 total yards last year. He isn’t getting as much publicity as D.K. Metcalf or Deebo Samuel, but is going in nearly the same range, and for good reason. But why is that 900-yard mark significant? Well, in the last five seasons, eight rookie wide receivers had at least 900 yards from scrimmage. The four last year did it, but the other four? Michael Thomas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, D.J. Moore, and Amari Cooper. There isn’t a bad peer in that bunch.
McLaurin rose to the spotlight his rookie year as a passable WR2. However, in the offseason, Washington brought in four pass-catchers who had a whopping 294 targets in 2019. So McLaurin will probably be taking a backseat in 2020… Just Kidding! 196 of those 294 targets went to new Washington players who were in college in 2019, and the rest were to Steve Sims and Cody Latimer (who got arrested May 26th on multiple charges). McLaurin’s role as the top wide receiver is as solid as ever.
Quarterback Dwayne Haskins doesn’t have to become great, he just has to not forget things he learned last year which, based on Washington’s league-lowest 17 points per game, wasn’t too many things. That should be enough to solidify McLaurin as an every-week WR2 starter for a Washington squad that should take a step forward in 2020.

Terry McLaurin could not be more of a screaming value in redraft leagues right now. His WR27-30 draft status doesn’t even come close to fleshing with the reality of his situation in Washington. He had an up-and-down 2019 campaign which included multiple quarterback changes and a head coaching change.
Best Case Scenario:
Washington stops stealing the “saddest team of the year” award from the Dolphins and Terry McLaurin has a high-end WR2 season and shows up on every single “this guy is going to be a PROBLEM” list on Twitter Dot Com.
Worst Case Scenario:
I mean, can it get worse than last year? $8 and a late 10 or a fifth-round pick is well worth it for a high receiver floor, even if that floor is still littered with the steamy droppings of last year’s team.
