D.J. Chark Overview:
Chark has exactly what you want in a third-year potential breakout WR: Two previous years in the NFL. The good news is Jacksonville has a robust running game and a WR2 with the not-so-intimidating name of “Laviska Shenault, Jr.” Chark should be a big part of new coordinator Jay Gruden’s plans to move the ball. Chark started his career off slowly in 2018, speaking to Jacksonville’s disarray. Last year, he took a massive step forward in literally every single category.
The bad news: Chark’s QB is… Gardner Minshew, I guess? The jury is still out on this rising gunslinger. More good news is that Jacksonville has the longest odds to win their division, 4x less likely than the next worst team. That means they’ll be playing from behind and throwing a lot. Being a bad team is good for fantasy, that’s how it works, right?
D.J. Chark Strategy:
D.J. Chark Auction Value: $10

DJ Chark is a clear WR2, ranked around WR24 among most media outlets. With a WR2, you always want to wait, wait, wait. His current ADP is 49th and his recommended auction value is $18. However, a decent WR2 will almost always fall to you (in an auction, he’s been going for an average of $7). This could be D.J. Chark! He finished last year around WR18, depending on format, which means he’s returning value at WR24. Just don’t reach for these guys, and you should be fine. The WR2 market is flooded, and that means you need to buy low (and late)!
Best Case Scenario:
You get D.J. Chark without having to reach. He finishes as a high-end WR2. You come up with a dynamite hilarious fantasy football team name, like “Dick Chark’s Hocken Jonnu Year’s Eve.”
Worst Case Scenario:
You reach on Chark and he struggles behind a new system and a shaky QB. You come up with a horrible team name like, “Char-Doyled StAkers,” but refuse to accept how bad it truly is.
